Is Islam good for London ?

Tomorrow, Tuesday 13th of November, the Royal Society of Arts in London will be hosting a debate entitled " Is Islam good for London ? " Sponsored by the Evening Standard and YOUGOVSTONE surveys, support for the motion will be provided by Inwat Bunglawal of the Muslim Council of Great Britain and Professor Micheal Burleigh.
Will opposing speakers Rod Liddel and Ed Husain be able to convince their college audience that Islam is a serious bummer pretty well everywhere on the planet? Probably not. An ideology that affords women a fraction of the rights of men and that ordains the execution of homosexuals and apostates ( from Islam only of course ) has a seemingly irresistible appeal for a disturbingly large proportion of British students and the British nomenclatura. Wonder why? No doubt because of anti-Americanism and ignorance as far as the students are concerned. For the nomenclatura, probably a mixture of anti-Americanism, mushy orientalist romanticism and the heady smell of loadsa petro-dosh. Ah well...
